Hi, I’m Tiffany Green & I’m a Therapist for High-Achieving Women in Chicago
School spelling bee champ. Check. Girl Scout’s “Bridge to Juniors” patch. Check. Straight A’s. Check. Student Council. Check. Honor Society. Check. Color coded folders to match each school textbook design. Double check. Yep! Looking back, I can see how the seeds of my high-achieving personality were planted early.
That girl grew up and embraced her Type A personality. I was hard-working, focused and driven. I LIKED TO WIN. After college and business school, I began a career in marketing and communications, working in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. I enjoyed my career but slowly over time, work became more demanding at the expense of my health. I burned out. I got sick—really sick. I was hospitalized and endured months of recovery from pneumonia.
This experience served as my personal, wake-up call. I remember clearly lying in the hospital bed struggling to breathe, and telling myself that if I was lucky enough to walk out of that hospital, I would live my life differently. It was a difficult lesson but I learned it—the hard way. I was determined to never allow this to happen to me again.
Over the next few months, I began to make health and work-life balance top priorities in my life. I started exercising, meditating, eating healthier, setting work boundaries, expanding my support network and engaging with people and activities that were life-giving. I showed up for myself like I had never done before.
During this time, I also realized what I valued most about my work was having an opportunity to support and encourage members of my team. I decided to make it official by going back to school full-time to pursue my new goal of becoming a therapist.
Now, I think of myself as having a “Type A Minus” personality. I am still focused and goal-oriented. But I know how to manage these tendencies in a healthy and sustainable way, and I am teaching others to do the same.
Today, I am a coach and psychotherapist specializing in providing care for women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ professionals. I offer affirming, culturally- and trauma-informed counseling to experienced clients, as well as those seeking therapy for the first time. I’m passionate about my work to help high-achieving women enjoy successful careers by addressing anxiety and depression symptoms and avoid the painful experience of burnout.
My personal insights, as a fellow high-achiever, as well as my education and professional experiences have all contributed to my unique approach to therapy. I am both a cheerleader and a consoler; a gentle truth-teller and a confidant. I bring more than 20 years of combined experience in for-profit, non-profit, hospital and private practice settings to support my clients in reaching their therapy goals.
I believe in digging deeper with clients to identify the origins of over-achieving thoughts, feelings and beliefs, which is the only way to create greater understanding and lasting change. In therapy sessions, I guide clients through the process of finding a sense of clarity, balance and connection. I am committed to helping women heal from high-functioning anxiety and depression to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
In my work, I utilize psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic, attachment, spiritual and coaching interventions—all with a side of humor. I have masters degrees in counseling, business and divinity. I am trained in Somatic Experiencing® and am a DARe (Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience) practitioner. I’m pleased to share that the majority of my clients experience a reduction of symptoms in 3 to 6 months.
When I am not in the office, I am tending to my impressive balcony garden, listening to podcasts, hanging out with friends and cooking. What people notice most about me first is my hair, smile and laugh—in that order 🙂
I am glad you found me. I see you. And I am so excited to take this healing journey with you. Reach out today and let’s get started!
Sincerely,
Tiffany Green (She/Hers)
