FAQs

Here are some of my most frequently asked questions:

Where are you located?

I am licensed to provided therapy to clients located in Illinois and Missouri. Although I am not currently offering in-person therapy, my office is located in Chicago’s West Loop.

Do you offer in-person or remote therapy sessions?

I provide online therapy sessions through a secure, HIPPA compliant web platform. Currently, I do not offer in-person sessions.

What type of experience do you have?

I have over 20 years of experience working in non-profit, for profit, hospital and private practice settings. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois and Missouri with masters degrees in counseling, business and divinity. I also have completed the DARe (Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience) training, as well as the three year program to become a Somatic Experiencing® practitioner.

What is your theoretical approach?

In my practice, I utilize psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic, attachment, spiritual and coaching interventions. More than a specific theory or orientation, however, I am committed to building collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationships with my clients.

Do you support clients who are not high-achieving women?

Lol. Yes. I specialize in supporting women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ professionals. The majority of my clients are high-achieving women experiencing anxiety, depression and burnout symptoms. However, not all of my clients fall in this category.

Do you accept insurance?

My practice is not in-network with any insurance carriers. However, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement for therapy sessions if your policy has out-of-network mental health benefits. I can provide you with a monthly statement which you can use to submit for reimbursement with your insurance carrier. I have a relationship with a third party business that can assist you in submitting out-of-network claims to your insurance. You can also submit your statement for reimbursement through a flexible spending or health savings account.

What is the cost per session?

Costs are $235 for an intake session and $210 for each following session. Payment is due at the time of service. Clients with out-of-network benefits can submit receipts to their insurance provider for reimbursement. Charism Counseling Center will provide clients with a monthly receipt or “superbill” to help facilitate this process.

What is the length of your sessions?

Sessions are 55 minutes in length.

Do you have a sliding scale?

No, unfortunately, I am not able to offer a sliding fee scale for clients at this time.

How can I pay?

My practice accepts all major credit cards, as well as health care spending account (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA) cards. Clients will be billed after each session. Payment must be made in full before the following session. (Most clients prefer to keep a credit card on file, which will be charged after each session to prevent disruptions in service).

How do I set up my first appointment?

To set up your first appointment, please contact me for a free 15-minute consultation. The consultation will determine if I am good fit for you based on your therapy needs. After the consultation, you will be given instructions to complete paperwork, and we will determine a time for your first session.

What are your earliest and latest appointment times?

Currently, I have availability on Mondays and Tuesdays. My earliest appointment is 11 a.m., and my latest is 5:30 p.m.

How frequently will we need to meet?

I work with clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for at least three months to establish a therapeutic rapport and determine counseling needs. Generally, clients who meet weekly for at least a year see the greatest benefits from therapy.

What is your cancellation policy?

To help us manage client care, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for session cancellations. Clients will be charged a $105 cancellation fee if they fail to cancel within 24 hours.
